This privacy policy explains how Rapiid EV (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you visit rapiidev.com, send us an enquiry, or contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email. We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable Indian law.

1. Who we are

Rapiid EV is the data fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only the data we need to answer your request.

  • Scooter enquiries: your name, mobile number, city, the model you are interested in and your message.
  • Dealership applications: your name, mobile number, email, state, city, preferred partnership level, planned investment range, showroom space, current business and your message.
  • General enquiries: your name, mobile number, email (optional), topic and message.
  • Phone, WhatsApp and email: your phone number or email address, and what you tell us.

We do not ask for sensitive information such as bank details, Aadhaar or PAN through this website.

Website usage data. Our hosting and analytics provider may record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit. We use this data in aggregate to keep the website secure and to understand which pages are useful. We do not use advertising cookies.

3. Why we use your data

We use your personal data only for these purposes:

  1. To reply to your enquiry and share prices, product details or dealership information.
  2. To connect you with a Rapiid EV dealer near you, if you ask about buying a scooter or a test ride.
  3. To assess and process your dealership application.
  4. To keep records of our communication with you.
  5. To keep our website secure and working properly.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form or contact us, or for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Who we share it with

We share your data only when we need to:

  • Rapiid EV dealers and distributors in your area, so that they can help you with a purchase, test ride or service.
  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, WhatsApp (Meta) and form-processing services. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of our service providers may store data on servers outside India. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your data stays protected, in line with the DPDP Act and any rules made under it.

5. Third-party services on this website

  • WhatsApp: when you tap a WhatsApp button or submit a form, WhatsApp opens with your message. Your message is then handled under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.
  • Google Maps: our contact page shows an embedded Google Map. Google may collect data when the map loads, under Google’s privacy policy.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry data for as long as we need it to answer your request and follow up, and in any case no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Dealership records for appointed partners are kept for the duration of the partnership and as required by law.

7. How we protect your data

We use reasonable security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for this website and limited access to enquiry data within our team.

8. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Correct, complete or update your personal data.
  • Erase your personal data, when it is no longer needed for the purpose you gave it for.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing done before you withdraw.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
  • Grievance redressal: raise a complaint with us, and if you are not satisfied with our response, with the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, email info@rapiidev.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law.

9. Children

This website is not meant for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Please check this page from time to time.
